Easter Egg Hunt

A colorful shaker card with adorable  Mini Easter Eggs .  I added a sentiment that my grandmother will have no problem understanding and a few die-cut branches and flowers. I'm entering the card in  Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 122

Sea you soon!

This card was inspired by   Wednesday sketch challenge #587  at My Favorite Things. For the card I combined two sets of MFT stamps:  Mermazing  and  BB Drink up the sunshine  which I stamped with Copic friendly ink. I usually go for Memento - Tuxedo Black.  Then I colored them with Copic markers. I used Distress Inks Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean for the sea, which I applied with a blending tool. On the bottom panel I used the technique where I put a stencil over the inked background and lightly wipe it with a baby wipe to remove a little bit of the ink. The result is a light pattern in the background. After that I stamped the seaweed stamps with Distress Oxide Ink Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio. April showers

As for the past few years the April showers have shown us everything - from a light drizzle to heavy snow. This year is no different.  So beside the colorful cards filled with flowers, we would not be blessed with those without a little rain.. I paper pieced the umbrella on a toothpick and added raindrops with glossy accents. Entered in  Vesela hiška - Izziv #29 Pomlad

Over the moon

The card was made with Distress Inks and a few flicks of white acrylic paint for the background, then i popped on this cheerful little guy from MFT stamps - BB Space explorer colored with colored pencils. As so many women are facing difficulties every day in proving themselves professionally, from working twice as hard to be regarded the same or even less than male colleagues, trying to achieve equal pay, facing challenges of motherhood combined with a successful career and always feeling guilty about juggling both, not to mention always feeling a bit odd asking a partner to look after his own children while she's away as if that really isn't a man's job and he's doing her a favor - the theme of the challenge this card is published for ('Male profession') feels like it should be part of the 'vintage' or 'from the past' chapter.  However.. crafting is supposed to be fun and relaxing, so prejudice aside... I am entering the card in    Craft-alnic...

The ugly duckling

Spring is here and I  can't wait to see the first cygnets on the nearby lake. And no, I didn't know what a young swan was called, I had to look it up. :) I got the idea for the card through my own struggles, where often you don't believe in yourself and would rather give up, yet with persistence you somehow manage to pull through the hardship and prove you're not just barely good enough, but really worth it. Just keep believing in yourself!   The card was made with Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer , Swan Soiree stamps with coordinating dies where I colored the little cygnets in yellow with Copic markers to change them into little ducklings, and Spiffy Speckles  patterned paper.  First I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink that is Copic friendly and colored the images with Copics. After that I masked the images with stamped and fussy cut masking paper and  created the background with Distress Inks. For the cygnet I used Salty Ocean, Vintage Photo and...
