This was my first attempt at a ‘Get well soon’ and ‘We’re thinking of you’ card after a heart attack of a family member. However, after I showed it to my husband he gave it an uninterested look and said ‘That’s it?’ 😆 As harsh as it sounded, he followed with ‘You have created such beautiful things before, this looks like you gave it 5 minutes in a hurry. Is that the message you want to send?’ Of course I told him he doesn’t understand art and this reflects the CAS taste of this person. But it made me think, so I created the card from one of my previous posts instead. That one did take quite a while but I was very pleased with it and it wouldn’t be created without this ‘kick in the butt’ encouragement. And yes, I was flattered he has a high regard for my cards so I took it as a compliment. 🙂  For this card I used a simple white square card base, I added stacked die cuts of a heartbeat from Marianne Design (sorry Tim Holtz, your dies are just amazing and I was eyeing yours for a while

Close your eyes and dream of a new beginning.. I used Sizzix Snow Globe Scene stamps and coordinating die to create this tiny shaker card. Instead of sequins to fill the shaker I used flakes of faux snow to put this cute little Copic-colored bunny in a snowy scene. When we go through hardship, it is difficult to see the sun through the thick clouds. But we must remember, the sun is there, even when we can't see it. And there will be sunshine after all the rain. I promise.  This card took a little longer to make than my usual cards. It was made with a family member in mind after they suffered a heart attack. When your life changes upside down in an instant, it is hard to focus on the good things. But having family around who will be there for you no matter what, is the most you could ask for.  So I made two images that could easily be two separate card fronts, but together they conveyed the message perfectly with the b/w vs. colored image.  On the front panel I stamped the little girl and ducks from Hello Bluebird Singing in the rain stamp set together from clouds from an older set.  I masked the images and then blended the background with Distress Oxide Black Soot. Then I colored the images with C family of Copic markers, drawing the rest of
