Christmas- revisited

‘You win some, you learn some.’ End of the year is the time we look back and remember all the good things (and some of the bad) that taught us this year. Or the years before. It is interesting to look back on my card making beginnings and see the progress over time. We may not have the feeling we change and progress with any activity we are doing in our life but when we keep track with a diary, photos of our makes or anytime else we do, we can really appreciate the time and effort we put into it and the difference it makes. This is a card design I revisited from years back. It’s simple and made quickly and it withstood the test of time. I still like it and wouldn’t do it any different now. :) Entered in : Craft-lnica Sss- Wed challenge

Love you beary beary much

Another card made for the White winter challenge where I had nothing on my hands but a few stamps, some previously stamped images and my Copics. Here are the cute polar bears in their warm scarves sending their love..  I am entering the card in   Craft-alnica Izziv 325 - Zima bela FB Papirčkarice Izziv meseca decembra: RDEČA

White winter

This card for me was an actual challenge. :) When I think an all-white card, I start thinking die-cuts, frames, stamps, different mediums, glitter, embellishments,.. anything to add interest and avoid the card looking flat. However, I felt like I was barefoot, not even a white gel pen! I left home for a few days with only a few stamps and all the colors of my Copic markers. Which in this case wasn't very useful. :) As I was sure I won't participate in this challenge, I managed to get out of my ever-complicating way and came up with something very simple that I ended liking even more. Santa's little helper

When Santa needs a little nap on Christmas Eve, his faithful helper chip in and hurry through the night to deliver the presents to all the children on the nice list.  I adore these little presents die cut from lavender and rose gold shiny card stock and who better to deliver them than a little die-cut gnome. The background is Distress Oxide in Milled Lavender with white gel pen and violet sequins for the shine. Christmas in red

That Christmas deep red color is just so beautiful and adds that warm feeling on a cold winter day.  Combined with gold it's just divine.. I used a red card base and stamped directly onto the base with Distress embossing ink, the added gold glitter embossing powder to add the sparkle and shine. Since it was too simple, I added more embossing powder on the edges to frame the tree and also used some Seedless preserves Distress ink on the edges to really make the image in the center pop. A pink Christmas

Merry Christmas!  Yes, it's that (most wonderful) time of the year again. This year I decided to participate in the annual charity cardmaking for Europa Donna  - Slovenian Association for Breast Cancer Awareness. As it was too late, I didn't manage to enter this card in the competition, but because it is for a good cause, I donated it just the same and hopefully it brings a smile on the recipient's face.  The theme was Pink Christmas, so I coloured this MFT Santa with pink Copic markers, blended some Distress ink Victorian velvet for the background and die cut the sentiment from Najlepši par .  I created the edges on a scoring board to form a nice double frame on a flat card. Happy 10th anniversary!

Last month Rayher Ljubljana celebrated their 10th anniversary. I always enjoy going to their store, but this was a complete surprise! The staff organised the most lovely celebration with food, drinks, giveaways, a photo booth, presentations and more! As part of their giveaway was a Limited edition Birthday cake cutting die from the amazing Tina Baša ( Najlepši par ) and with the new interactive die from Lawn Fawn it inspired me to make this card: From a simple start it then opens up to show more flowers and sequins and the candles magically light up for a nice surprise! Slow down..

We're all rushing through life, so from time to time we need a reminder to slow down.. In my case, I had to rush with the making of this card. It was last minute and it took me a little while to find the right image of the car and then colour it with colour pencils, so the rest of the card is quite simple. But you get the idea :) The card went to an enthusiast for renovating old cars and his first project was this dark green Spitfire. He celebrated his 60th birthday so this card was just perfect for the occasion. I entered the card in:  Craft-alnica Izziv 323: Moško

Christmas is coming..

Hey there pumpkin

Fall - time for pumpkin soup, pumpkin spice latte, carving Halloween pumpkins and everything else - pumpkin. Of course pumpkin cards are a must.  I have seen so many adorable cards this fall with pumpkins in every possible way. This was one that caught my eye - the cutting die from Concord and 9th. I cut out the pumpkins from two different orange cardstock colors and blended the edges with Distress Oxide Spiced marmalade. I die cut a background panel from  Pine textured cardstock  and glued it to a card base. The cutting die gives you the option of a sliding element and they come with coordinating stamps.  I am entering the card in:  #btchallenge117 SSS Wednesday challenge - Anything goes Craft-alnica Izziv #320 - Bučke

Golden jubilee anniversary

Happy 50th anniversary! Congratulations to this couple from the bottom of my heart. Marriage is not easy, not all the time. It has its ups and downs, its challenges and hardships. It requires cooperation and compromises and pulling together even when you know it would be so much easier on your own. But your spouse is also the one who is there for you when you very well know you couldn't have done it by yourself. And what greater joy is to stop for a moment and look around you, appreciating all the things you have achieved together in those years and enjoying the best company you could imagine - your family.   This time I tried making an envelope and included just a simple card with a pocket to insert banknotes. I used an older design from Scrapberry's 12''x12'' patterned paper and a Martha Stewart Scoring Board and Envelope Tool to make a #10 sized envelope. I glued a piece of doily on the flap of the envelope and decorated it with  paper flowers I made from Pap

A warm fall thank you

I made the card base myself from kraft card stock. I die cut the leaves with Spellbinders Mini fall blooms cutting die from kraft, colored, orange metallic and white card stock. The leaves that were cut from white card stock were additionally colored with Distress Ink - Mustard seed, Abandoned coral, Dried marigold, Gathered twigs and Mowed lawn. I stamped the little fox with a stamp from Najlepši par - Jesen and colored with Copic markers. I use Memento Tuxedo black for my stamping when I use alcohol ink markers. I die cut the sentiment 'Thank you' with a cutting die from Najlepši par. Summer sunset

Summer sunset and a romantic bicycle ride in the late summer. As it is saying its goodbyes for the season, the swallows are already gathering to fly south for the winter. These colors that are not usually on my creative desk, but I got inspired by  Craft-alnica Izziv #317 - Sončni zahod  and must say I am quite fond of the end result.  I cut strips of colored cardstock that matched the palette for the challenge. As I was missing the peachy color, I made my own by using the Distress Oxide Saltwater taffy on a piece of white cardstock. I glued the strips next to eachother and cut them in the shape of a circle, then cut out a size bigger circle from black cardstock and glued it on off-centered. I added die cuts of a bicycle and grass with two swallows all from black cardstock, together with Najlepši par sentiment ‘Happy birthday’ that I embellished with clear Nuvo drops for a bit of shine. I put it all on yellow cardstock on a black mat and added it onto a square card base. I am entering

Shades of blue

Summer is coming to an end.. and we’re all feeling that summertime blues. Now is time to reconnect with all the friends we didn’t get to see while we were on vacation and what better way to do it than a card! This card was made by cutting stripes of 4 different colors of blue cardstock from my stash and a holographic cardstock. I glued them to a piece of white cardstock with Stick it adhesive sheets which was a lot less messy than the one I made with liquid glue. On top I glued the hello die cut from Waffle flower oversized Hey hi hello print and added a heat embossed sentiment.  I don’t use the blues very often so I was happy to get the chance to play with different hues. I don’t know about other crafters but when I see a perfect color combination it literally sends shivers down my spine. Unfortunately I can’t always get the camera to catch what I see with my eyes, either the color or the details.. I still have the Uncharted mariner on my desk and can’t wait to have time for a projec

Sea friends

Making new friends was one of the best things about summer vacation when I was a young girl. Who turned into pen pals when summer was over. Now I could have sent them these cute summer cards..  The card was made by first creating the background with Distress inks and watercolor paper. I cut circles out from white cardstock with basic shaped cutting dies and made it into a shaker card, then glued the little mermaid and her pals that were colored with different mediums - from Distress inks, Copic markers to colored pencils on the acetate and the bottom of the card. Under the sea

While some crafters are already getting ready for Christmas, I am still in summer mode! I made the card by creating the background with Distress inks on watercolor paper and bubble stencil. i used the baby wipe technique where I first colored the paper, then used the baby wipe over the stencil to pick up some of the color. I stamped some of the fish directly on the panel, together with the ‘Happy birthday’ sentiment, the other were stamped, colored with Copic markers or Distress inks and fussy cut before glued on the panel.   I inked the edges of the panel with the same Distress colors and glued it to a card base. Summer bubbles

Time for some summer bubbles.. and not only in our drink :) The card was made using a stencil and Distress inks for the background with additional shading on the edges of the card panel. The Greeting Farm's little mermaid stamp was colored with Copic markers, then cut out with coordinating cutting die and mounted on an oval shaped velum. I added green embellishments to make it more vibrant. I am entering the card in:  1. Craft-alnica Izziv #315 - Poletje 2. Bastel traum challenge #115 - Anything goes  #btchallenge115 3. Time to travel

'The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.' Summer vacation!! It's time to pack your bags and go... everywhere! Traveling was always my favourite thing to do. New places, new people and... mmmm all the tasty new food. Can't wait for the next one :) This time I also decorated the inside of the card to match the design in the front panel. So it's a card pretending to be a postcard. (: I am entering the card in  1. Craft-alnica Izziv #315 - Poletje 2. Bastel Traum Challenge - Anything goes #btchallenge115

Thank you

Following this fortnight’s challenge at Craft-alnica I created a card using a scrap piece of newspaper. I really liked this image from a skincare ad and saved it but I didn’t know how to use it. It was buried in my scraps pile for literally ages and I have already forgotten about it.  I am happy the challenge made me think outside the box and finally make use of this serene beautiful image and I feel as if the process of putting together this card ran itself this time - pieces on my creative desk simply fell into place within minutes without overthinking. So… thank you - hvala! Craft-alnica Izziv #314: PAPIR iz REVIJE ali KOLEDARJA Najlepši par - Galerija meseca julija

Summer greetings

For the card I combined two sets of MFT stamps:  Mermazing  and  BB Drink up the sunshine  which I stamped with Copic friendly ink. I usually go for  Memento - Tuxedo Black.  Then I colored them with Copic markers. I used  Distress Inks and Oxides  Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch for the sea, Vintage Photo for land which I applied with a blending tool. On the bottom panel I used the technique where I put a stencil over the inked background and lightly wipe it with a baby wipe to remove a little bit of the ink to create the bubbles. I lightly stencilled the clouds on a top folding white card panel (they are not well visible on the photo). I finished off the card with holographic frames, a sentiment from Mermazing stamp set and pearlescent half pearls. For stamping sentiments I prefer the  Versafine Onyx Black ink . I hope to sea you on my blog again soon! Entering in  Vesela hiška Izziv #32 Poletje Premium CRAFT Ustvarjalni sladkorčki

Shot through the heart.. 💘

Looking at the female representation in politics lately, it looks like the time has come for strong women - warriors! So here is one to join them. She might look cute, but be careful - she knows how to wield her bow and arrow. Family time

When your kids are away and you want them to know they are loved no matter where they are and how long they're gone. Or it's one of those weeks when you feel you're only there to nag them from morning 'till evening and forget to tell them how wonderful they really are.  It is one of the simplest cards I ever made, but so honest. The pandas and little heart are from my kids' sticker set. I set them on a background of die-cut leaves and Distress Oxide Ink Worn Lipstick . Just added a heat embossed sentiment from MFT Magical Dragons  stamp set and it was ready for my little recipients. I am entering the card in  MFT Color Challenge 188

Spring, sunshine and beautiful butterflies

Oh how I enjoy the spring sunshine and having some peaceful moments outside listening to the birds and of course - creating with colors!! It's the time of the year for flowers and butterflies and one of my favorite stamps -    Transformation  by The Ton. For this card I first stamped and heat embossed the butterfly with embossing ink and white embossing powder on water color paper. Then I played with different combinations of Spectrum Noir Aqua markers - Floral set and two sets of colored pencils ( Cass Art and Prismacolor ) with a water brush to color this butterfly plus several others I prepared beforehand with stamping and embossing. I mounted it on a square card base with a bright green background to bring out the leaves and the card was done! I enjoyed so much playing with different embossing powder colors (black, white, gold and copper) and color schemes, I can’t wait to do more!
