Golden jubilee anniversary

Happy 50th anniversary! Congratulations to this couple from the bottom of my heart. Marriage is not easy, not all the time. It has its ups and downs, its challenges and hardships. It requires cooperation and compromises and pulling together even when you know it would be so much easier on your own. But your spouse is also the one who is there for you when you very well know you couldn't have done it by yourself. And what greater joy is to stop for a moment and look around you, appreciating all the things you have achieved together in those years and enjoying the best company you could imagine - your family.   This time I tried making an envelope and included just a simple card with a pocket to insert banknotes. I used an older design from Scrapberry's 12''x12'' patterned paper and a Martha Stewart Scoring Board and Envelope Tool to make a #10 sized envelope. I glued a piece of doily on the flap of the envelope and decorated it with  paper flowers I made from Pap...

Summer greetings

For the card I combined two sets of MFT stamps:  Mermazing  and  BB Drink up the sunshine  which I stamped with Copic friendly ink. I usually go for  Memento - Tuxedo Black.  Then I colored them with Copic markers. I used  Distress Inks and Oxides  Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch for the sea, Vintage Photo for land which I applied with a blending tool. On the bottom panel I used the technique where I put a stencil over the inked background and lightly wipe it with a baby wipe to remove a little bit of the ink to create the bubbles. I lightly stencilled the clouds on a top folding white card panel (they are not well visible on the photo). I finished off the card with holographic frames, a sentiment from Mermazing stamp set and pearlescent half pearls. For stamping sentiments I prefer the  Versafine Onyx Black ink . I hope to sea you on my blog again soon! Entering in  Vesela hi...

Family time

When your kids are away and you want them to know they are loved no matter where they are and how long they're gone. Or it's one of those weeks when you feel you're only there to nag them from morning 'till evening and forget to tell them how wonderful they really are.  It is one of the simplest cards I ever made, but so honest. The pandas and little heart are from my kids' sticker set. I set them on a background of die-cut leaves and Distress Oxide Ink Worn Lipstick . Just added a heat embossed sentiment from MFT Magical Dragons  stamp set and it was ready for my little recipients. I am entering the card in  MFT Color Challenge 188

Spring, sunshine and beautiful butterflies

Oh how I enjoy the spring sunshine and having some peaceful moments outside listening to the birds and of course - creating with colors!! It's the time of the year for flowers and butterflies and one of my favorite stamps -    Transformation  by The Ton. For this card I first stamped and heat embossed the butterfly with embossing ink and white embossing powder on water color paper. Then I played with different combinations of Spectrum Noir Aqua markers - Floral set and two sets of colored pencils ( Cass Art and Prismacolor ) with a water brush to color this butterfly plus several others I prepared beforehand with stamping and embossing. I mounted it on a square card base with a bright green background to bring out the leaves and the card was done! I enjoyed so much playing with different embossing powder colors (black, white, gold and copper) and color schemes, I can’t wait to do more! The card was entered in: Vesela hiška Izziv #30 - Cvetlice Darilnica Klavdija: Izziv #...

..because I care

Sending happy mail, full of love...  For this card I stamped a background stamp with envelopes on a piece of white card stock, then heat embossed it with Nuvo Fine Embossing powder - Copper blush . I added shading with  Distress Ink - Vintage Photo  and then distressed the edges with a distressing tool. I embellished the background with just a plain kraft paper die-cut from  Sizzix Bigz - Hearts #4  which I wrapped with twine. A touch of color was added with the single flower and a heat embossed sentiment. I wish you the best day ever! The card was added to  Craft-alnica Izziv #309: Vrvica Vesela hiška Izziv #30 - Cvetlice

The ugly duckling

Spring is here and I  can't wait to see the first cygnets on the nearby lake. And no, I didn't know what a young swan was called, I had to look it up. :) I got the idea for the card through my own struggles, where often you don't believe in yourself and would rather give up, yet with persistence you somehow manage to pull through the hardship and prove you're not just barely good enough, but really worth it. Just keep believing in yourself!   The card was made with Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer , Swan Soiree stamps with coordinating dies where I colored the little cygnets in yellow with Copic markers to change them into little ducklings, and Spiffy Speckles  patterned paper.  First I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink that is Copic friendly and colored the images with Copics. After that I masked the images with stamped and fussy cut masking paper and  created the background with Distress Inks. For the cygnet I used Salty Ocean, Vintage Photo and...
