I know, as parents we are all the same. The kid picks up a brush, paints a few strokes on a torn piece of paper and to the parents they're the next Picasso. But seriously... watching my 3-year old paint is mesmerising. And I get completely lost watching her play with colours - even though it's only the cheapest brushes and paint from the supermarket. To be honest - the result is no masterpiece. I consider myself a better artist than her - I stay within the lines when I colour, I use the colours of the same family together, I use proper geometrical shapes and like to keep a good composition and symmetry and I never press too hard with my pencil so it doesn't break or put a hole in the paper, I never randomly mix colours to see what happens and I don't get dirty while painting. Really? :) Is that what makes great art? I started learning from my daughter. Just watching her creativity, unladen with rules and confinements of our adult minds is so inspiring. Don...
